Once a family home, La Isla is divided into four main houses, providing privacy and comfort. All rooms open onto views of our Patagonian mountains, forests, and lake. Our spaces are designed for warmth, serenity and silence amid the raw beauty of Patagonia.

Days may be spent hiking through our native forests or enjoying the sunset from our sauna. There is time for reading beneath the trees, discovering exquisite Argentine wines, and evenings in the movie room with films from our collection of Criterion classics. Between it all are long meals over open fires.

The art of the table is at the heart of life at La Isla. Picnics beneath lengas and coihues, long lunches beside the waterfall, and Francis’s open-fire cooking techniques throughout your stay.

La Isla lies deep within the Patagonian Andes of Chubut, Argentina. Accessible only by boat, the island remains a rare and special place, surrounded by glacial waters and pristine wilderness. It is a place of intimacy and remoteness, a world away from noise and urgency.

The house is designed to accommodate both time together and time alone, with beautiful spaces to rest, gather, celebrate and enjoy the surroundings.
