These terms apply to your use of this website and to stays at La Isla, a private island lodge in the province of Chubut, Argentina. Please read them before making a reservation. The specific terms confirmed to you at the time of booking form part of your reservation and prevail where they differ from these general terms.
This website and the lodge are operated by La Isla ("La Isla", "we", "us"). You can reach us at info@laislapatagonia.com. Inquiries about hosted experiences with Francis Mallmann are handled at experiences@francismallmann.com.
The content on this website is provided for general information. We describe the island, its rooms, food and activities as accurately as we can, but life here follows the seasons and the weather, and details may change without notice. Photographs are illustrative. Nothing on this website is an offer that becomes binding without a confirmed reservation.
A reservation is confirmed only when we have confirmed it to you in writing and received any payment required under the terms shared at the time of booking. The island welcomes a small number of guests each season and availability is limited. Hosted experiences are offered on select dates, with their own program, inclusions and terms, which are shared when you inquire.
Rates, deposits, payment schedules and accepted payment methods are communicated at the time of booking. What your rate includes is set out in your booking confirmation. This website does not take payments.
Due to the nature of the experience and the limited capacity of the lodge, reservations are subject to specific cancellation and payment terms, which are shared at the time of booking. We recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, interruption, medical care and evacuation.
If we need to change or cancel a reservation for reasons outside our control, including weather, access or safety, we will contact you as early as possible and work with you on alternative dates or the options set out in your booking terms.
La Isla operates seasonally from October through April. Outside these months the island closes due to weather and accessibility, with the exception of hosted experiences arranged for other times of the year. Patagonian weather can change quickly, often within the same day. Lake crossings, activities and schedules may be adjusted, postponed or cancelled when conditions require it, and decisions about safety rest with our team.
Guests fly to Comodoro Rivadavia and continue by ground transportation arranged in advance by our team, then cross the lake by boat. You are responsible for your flights, passports, visas and any entry requirements for Argentina, and for reaching the agreed meeting point on time. Delays caused by airlines or other third parties are outside our control.
Walks, outdoor activities, the sauna, the hot tub and swimming in the lake are part of life at La Isla and always optional. Routes vary in length and difficulty and can be adapted to the group. By taking part you accept the ordinary risks of outdoor activity in a remote natural setting, where medical care is some distance away.
Please tell us before arrival about any medical condition, mobility limitation or other circumstance we should know about, follow the guidance of our team, and take part only in activities that suit your health and fitness.
We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences when you tell us at the time of booking. Meals are prepared in a shared kitchen and over open fire, so we cannot guarantee that any dish is free of traces of allergens. Please tell us about serious allergies in advance so we can discuss what is possible.
La Isla is designed to be comfortable and intentionally simple. The lodge runs on solar energy and internet is available through a Starlink connection; both may be limited or interrupted at times. We ask guests to respect the island, its wildlife and its quiet, as well as the other guests who share it.
Personal belongings remain your responsibility during your stay and transfers. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for their loss or damage unless it is caused by our negligence. Guests are responsible for damage to the lodge or its contents caused by them or their party, beyond ordinary wear.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as weather, natural events, transport disruption or the acts of third parties.

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Argentina, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to use of the website from the date shown above, and the terms confirmed with your booking apply to your stay.
