La Isla operates seasonally from October through April.
Outside of these months, the island closes due to weather conditions and accessibility, with the exception of hosted experiences which may take place at different times of the year by special arrangement.
Patagonia is known for its variability, and conditions can change quickly, often within the same day.
December, January and February are typically the warmest months at La Isla, when temperatures can reach 25°C on sunny days, while nights can still be cold, dropping to 10°C. Perfect for sunbathing and cold plunging during the day, and getting warm by a fire at night.
In October, November and April, daytime temperatures typically range between 5°C and 16°C, with occasional warmer moments. Evenings and lake crossings can feel cooler, particularly with wind.
The experience is designed to adapt to these conditions, which are part of what defines the character of the place.
Due to the nature of the experience and the limited capacity of the lodge, reservations are subject to specific cancellation and payment terms, which will be shared at the time of booking.
We recommend securing travel insurance to account for unforeseen changes.
We recommend packing for comfort, layering, and time outdoors.
A more detailed packing guide will be shared prior to arrival.
We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. Please notify us at the time of booking or include this information during the reservation process so the team can prepare accordingly.
Daily walks and outdoor activities are a central part of the experience, but always remain optional. Routes vary in length and difficulty and can be adapted to the group. Some walks are more extensive and exploratory, while others are shorter and more relaxed. Guests are welcome to participate at their own pace or choose to remain on the island and enjoy the surroundings.
La Isla is designed to be both comfortable and intentionally simple. The lodge is powered by solar energy, and guests will be able to charge personal devices. Internet is available via a Starlink connection. The island offers a sauna and hot tub, with the option of a cold plunge in the lake. Sunrise and sunset times vary throughout the season, with long daylight hours during peak months.
La Isla is located in the province of Chubut, Argentina. Guests fly into Comodoro Rivadavia and continue to La Isla by ground transport, arranged in advance by our team. Access to the island is by boat. The lake crossing can be cool, and we recommend having warm clothing easily accessible.
Our team will coordinate all logistics and provide detailed instructions ahead of your stay.
